Martha Jane Mitsven, Westwood

Martha Jane Mitsven of Westwood died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at the Kansas University Hospital. She was 70.
Mrs. Mitsven was a registered nurse at Trinity Lutheran Hospital for 20 years before she retired in 2002.
The daughter of Anthony J. and Marie Agnes Burenheide, she was born March 17, 1937, at Olpe, where she spent her childhood. She attended one year at Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia and later graduated from Penn Valley Community College with a degree in nursing.
She married Larry Love. He died earlier. She married Wallace Mitsven 34 years ago. He survives.
Mrs. Mitsven was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Mo., and past president of WELCA for two years and the Altar Guild, both at the church. She also was past president of the local chapter of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses.
She also is survived by two sons, Brad Love and Frank Love; three brothers, Harold Burenheide, George Burenheide and Clarence Burenheide; one sister, Theresa Cozad, and four grandchildren. Two sisters, Helen Hogan and Jeanette Soldani, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church before the service.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the church Memorial Fund, 1700 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111 or the Alzheimer’s Association Heartland Chapter, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
