James Ronald Gerleman, Olpe
Olpe native James Ronald “Cussin’ Gus” Gerleman of Littleton, Colo., died of cardiac arrest Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Littleton. He was 75.
Mr. Gerleman was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and the U.S. Army and Air Force National Guard, serving more than 30 years.
The son of Alfred John and Loretta Agnes Rues Gerleman, he was born March 31, 1932, at Olpe. He attended St. Joseph grade school and high school, where he graduated in 1950.
Mr. Gerleman is survived by his wife, Arlene; two sons, Arlan Gerleman and Michael Gerleman; eight brothers, Greg Gerleman of Emporia, Phil Gerleman of Burlington, Jerry Gerleman of Leavenworth; Charlie Dick Gerleman of Salina, John Gerleman of Appleton, Wash., Jim Gerleman of San Francisco, Calif., M. Raymond Gerleman of Colorado Springs, Colo., and David K. Gerleman of Boulder, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, RaNae, and a grandson, Ryan, died earlier.
The memorial service was held July 26, 2007, at Littleton, Colo.

Mr. Gerleman was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and the U.S. Army and Air Force National Guard, serving more than 30 years.
The son of Alfred James and Loretta Agnes Rues Gerleman, he was born March 31, 1932 in Olpe. He attended St. Joseph grade school and high school at Olpe, where he graduated in 1950.
Mr. Gerleman was a 32-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; one daughter, Rhonda Marie Krudwig of Lakewood, Colo.; two sons, Arlan Gerleman of Pocatello, Idaho and Michael Gerleman of Plano, Texas; eight brothers, Greg Gerleman of Emporia, Phil Gerleman of Burlington, Jerry Gerleman of Leavenworth, Charles Richard Gerleman of Salina, John Gerleman of Appleton, Wash., Jim Gerleman of San Francisco, Maurice Ramon Gerleman of Colorado Springs, Colo. and David K. Gerleman of Boulder, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter, RaNae Gerleman, and a grandson, Ryan Klier, died earlier.
The memorial service, led by the AA Fellowship, was held July 26 at All Redeemers Episcopal Church in Littleton, Colo. The military service, with full honors, was held in Fort Logan Cemetery at Littleton.
