Minnie Bertha Houska

Minnie Bertha Houska of Emporia died Aug. 11, 2007. She was 94.
Mrs. Houska helped her husband farm and was a homemaker. She lived in Great Bend since 1979 and moved to Emporia in 1999.
The daughter of Johann and Alvina Hill, she was born March 24, 1913, in Russell County. She married Lloyd C. Houska on March 20, 1935. He died earlier.
Mrs. Houska was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Ann Lewis of Emporia; two sisters, Viola Adamek of Ellsworth and Ella Conklin of Folsom, Calif.; and two grandsons. An infant daughter, Mary Alice Houska; four brothers, John Hill, Ernest Hill, Harvey Hill and Alvin Hill; and one sister, Edna Hill, died earlier.
The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Claflin City Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Charter Funerals in Great Bend.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Claflin Emergency Medical Services — Ambulance Department and sent in care of the funeral home, 2115 Washington, Great Bend, KS 67530.
