Hartford native Mary O. Murphy died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Bixby Knolls Tower in Long Beach, Calif. She was 89.
The daughter of Cornelius A. and Frances Hurtig O’Connor, she was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Hartford. She grew up in Hartford and then moved to Denver, Colo., before she moved to Long Beach, Calif.
She married Edward V. Murphy. He died earlier.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris O’Connor of Hartford and Jean O’Connor of Irvine, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Helen, Julia and Anna Clare, and two brothers, John and Cornelius J. “Connie” O’Connor, died earlier.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hartford. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Hartford.
