Audrey Irene Krom, Emporia
1924 - 2007
Audrey Irene Krom died Friday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Flint Hills Manor Care Center. She was 82.
Mrs. Krom worked as a Registered Nurse at Newman Memorial County Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital in Emporia for 20 years. She was a member of the Salvation Army.
Audrey Irene Slack was born Sept. 22, 1924 in Emporia, the daughter of John and Mary Jane Sprague Slack. She married Clarence Krom in Cottonwood Falls. He died in 1975.
She also was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Branson of Americus; a son, Larry Krom of Americus; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Haworth Cemetery, southwest of Emporia. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Bud Tuxhorn of the Americus United Methodist Church.
