Sharon May Carr, Emporia

Sharon May Carr of rural Emporia died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was 65.
Mrs. Carr was a production worker at Dolly Madison Bakeries for four years before she quit in 1977 to be a stay-at-home mother. She later worked at So-Fro Fabrics before she began working at Waters True Value where she worked for 13 years and where she was currently employed.
The daughter of Carl Welda and Hawa May North Potter, she was born Jan. 31, 1942, in Cottonwood Falls. She married Lewis Theodore “Ted” Carr Jr., at the Grace United Methodist Church. He survives.
Mrs. Carr was a member of the Saffordville United Methodist Church in Toledo Township.
She is also survived by three sons, Theodore Carl Carr and Monte Dale Carr, both of Emporia, and William James Carr of Saffordville; one daughter, Sara Ann Carr of Emporia; three brothers, Roger Potter and Jim Potter, both of Emporia, and Kim Potter of Yates Center; three sisters, Brenda Ryno and Vicki Jacobs, both of Emporia, and Carla Bailey of Topeka; one stepbrother, Bob Beyer of Council Grove; one stepsister, Shirley Zink of Lebo; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents; a sister, Penny Rae Potter-Lanzrath; and a granddaughter, Jenny Mae Carr, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Saffordville United Methodist Church in Toledo Township. The Rev. Bev Meadows of the church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at Toledo Township. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
