Opal George

Opal George, a resident of the Emporia Presbyterian Manor died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Newman Regional Health. She was 94.
Mrs. George was a secretary at The College of Emporia for more than 30 years.
The daughter of H. Clarence and Cordia Mitchell Featherkile, she was born Feb. 18, 1913, at Fordland, Mo. She moved with her parents to Chase County when she was young. She attended grade school in Strong City and at Fox Creek, north of Strong City. She graduated from Strong City High School in 1930.
She married Clarence George on Aug. 31, 1935, at Council Grove. He died Feb. 27, 1991, at Emporia.
Mrs. George was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Boyce of Americus.
Mrs. George was cremated, with no services planned at this time.
