Jerry L. Williams

The funeral for Jerry L. Williams of rural Emporia will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church. The Rev. Chad Poland of the church and the Rev. Bev Meadows of the Saffordville United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Masonic services will be conducted by Masonic Lodge 12, A.F. & A.M. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, south of Emporia. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions for his daughters’ education may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Mr. Williams died Thursday, April 12, 2007, of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident southwest of Emporia. He was 52.
He was a cowboy and stockman and worked for the Flint Hills Feed Yards.
The son of David L. and Marie Studer Williams, he was born June 12, 1954, in Emporia. He graduated from Emporia High School and the Flint Hills Technical College.
He married Glenda Danford on May 15, 1982, in Cottonwood Falls. She survives.
Mr. Williams was a member and past master of Emporia Masonic Lodge 12, A.F. & A.M.
He is also survived by two daughters, Ann Williams of the home and Lisa Williams of Manhattan; his mother of Emporia; four brothers, Jay Williams and Steve Williams, both of Olpe, Scott Williams of Newton and Stan Williams of Winona, Minn.; and one sister, Diane Havenstein of Manhattan.
His father died earlier.
