Mildred Lucille Graham, Cottonwood Falls
The service to celebrate the life of Mildred Lucille Graham, a longtime resident of Cottonwood Falls will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. Melody Kimbrel will conduct the service. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls. The family will meet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Friends also may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions to the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church or the Macular Degeneration Foundation may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
Mrs. Graham died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Larned Healthcare in Larned. She was 89.
She was a cook for the Chase County School District 284 for 18 years. She also was a childcare provider for many Chase County children.
The daughter of Seaf A. and Irene J. Habor Burton, she was born July 22, 1917, at Minco, Okla. She married Neil Kennith Graham on Nov. 4, 1939, at Cottonwood Falls. He died March 18, 1988.
Mrs. Graham was a member of the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church. She participated regularly at the Senior Center in Cottonwood Falls and also collected dolls and made doll clothes.
She is survived by a son, Charles “Chuck” Robert Graham of Burdett; a daughter, Erma Jean Eagen of Stuart, Fla.; two brothers, Alvin C. Burton and Oliver G. Burton, both of Wichita; two sisters, Wilma F. Bjorklund of Wichita and Wanda Mosher of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. One sister, Dorothy Pritz, and three brothers, John E. Burton, Seaf “Bud” Burton and Robert Burton, died earlier.
