Emma Jane Schaefer

Emma Jane Baker Schaefer of 502 Wilson St. died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at Newman Regional Health. She was 78.
“Janie” Baker was born Oct. 10, 1927, in Grundy County, Mo. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary Ann Atkinson Baker. She married Roy Mount Schaefer on Aug. 21, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.
Mrs. Schaefer was a homemaker and attended the West Side Baptist Church.
Other survivors include four sons, Mark Schaefer of Americus, Lloyd Schaefer of Overland Park, Darrell Schaefer of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glenn Schaefer of Carlsbad, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Baker and David Baker.
She will be cremated.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, conducted by the rev. Bill Bingham and the Rev. Ken Armstrong, both of West Side Baptist Church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at memorial Lawn Cemetery.
