Harriett Lorene McDonald

The graveside service for Harriett Lorene McDonald will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka. The Rev. Bob Colerick of the First Christian Church will conduct the service. The family will meet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions to the First Christian Church or Hand in Hand Hospice may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Mrs. McDonald died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor, where she was a resident. She was 90.
She was a nurse for Dr. Oborne and Dr. Hollenbeck in Eureka and at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka. She and her family then moved to Manhattan and she worked for Kansas State University. She worked 30 years before she retired 26 years ago.
The daughter of Hugh and Tressora Snider Devier, she was born Oct. 5, 1915, at Eureka. She married Noland Ball McDonald on Feb. 25, 1935, at El Dorado. He died July 24, 1994.
Mrs. McDonald was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Glenna J. Gamblian of Emporia; one son, Noland Dee McDonald of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
