Gwendolyn M. Knott
Gwendolyn M. “Gwen” Knott died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2006, at the Council Grove Healthcare Center. She was 82.
Mrs. Knott was a secretary at the Council Grove High School for several years.
The daughter of Grover and Nell Norton McCrabb, she was born July 10, 1924, at Council Grove. She graduated from Council Grove High School and Brown-Mackie Business School.
She married Michael F. Knott on Feb. 20, 1944, at Council Grove. He died May 13, 1988.
Mrs. Knott was a member of the First Congregational Church in Council Grove. She also was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and N.E.O.T.A.
She is survived by one daughter, Kim Linhart of Ottawa; one son, James Knott of Richmond, Texas; one sister, Alice Allen of Council Grove; and four grandchildren.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery at Council Grove. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel-Council Grove Chapel.
