Rex Eugene Norris

The funeral for Rex Eugene Norris Sr., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Charter Funerals-Emporia Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Coffeyville. The family will meet friends from 5 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions to the Grace United Methodist Church may be sent in care of the funeral home, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.
Mr. Norris, 114 Market St., died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at Newman Regional Health. He was 83.
He was a retired railroad conductor and a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.
The son of Ray I. and Lola C. Hobson Norris, he was born July 11, 1923, at Havana. He married Joan Merrick in 1984. She survives.
Mr. Norris was a member of American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5.
He is also survived by two sons, Rex E. Norris Jr., and William D. Norris, both of Emporia. One sister; two half brothers; and three half sisters, died earlier.
