James Earl Harrison

Emporia native James Earl Harrison of Newton died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita. He was 49.
The son of LeRoy William and Betty Townsend Harrison, he was born Jan. 4, 1957, at Emporia.
Mr. Harrison is survived by one son, James Earl Harrison Jr., of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Jamie Chanel Harrison of Jacksonville, Fla., LaShawna Michelle Griffin of Washington, D.C., and Tekoa Nicole Harrison of San Bernadino, Calif.; three brothers, William Henry Harrison and LaRoy Anthony Harrison, both of Emporia, and Leslie Joe Harrison of Lansing; four sisters, Delores L. Harrison and Gloria Ann Harrison, both of Emporia, Betty Jean Morrow of Kansas City, Kan., and Jeanetta Harrison of Shawnee; three grandchildren; and his life companion, Michelle Quenzer of Newton. His parents died earlier.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chester Morris of the Church of the New Covenant will conduct the service. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
