Mildred “Mid” Osborne

of Council Grove died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at the Council Grove Healthcare Center. She was 91.
Mrs. Osborne, a homemaker, also helped her husband, William Osborn, farm. Before her marriage, she worked in a law office in Council Grove and at the Council Grove Telephone office.
The daughter of John Walker and Havilah Nannie Admire, she was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Auburn, Neb. She moved with her family to Fairfax and Tarkio, Mo., before they moved to Council Grove in June 1929. She graduated from Council Grove High School in 1932.
She married William Mason Osborne II on Nov. 28, 1937. He died Dec. 1, 1994.
Mrs. Osborne was a member of the Council Grove Christian Church. She also was a member of the Nimble Fingers Sewing Club and the Uniondale and Canning Creek card clubs.
She is survived by two daughters, Lorene Brown of Council Grove and Marjorie Volesky of Oketo; two sons, Bill Osborne of Topeka and John Osborne of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren
Four brothers, Walker Admire, Ira Admire, Buford Admire and Milford Admire; and two sisters, Fern Burnett and Norma Anderson, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Council Grove Christian Church. Burial will be in the Osborne lot at Greenwood cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel.
