Dorothy Bell Yenzer

Former Emporia resident Dorothy Bell Yenzer of Lawrence died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at the Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation center. She was 78.
Mrs. Yenzer, a homemaker, also worked in retail sales at Sears and J.C. Penney in Manhattan.
The daughter of George E. and Anna Hess McMillan, she was born Jan.. 31, 1928, in Wichita. She graduated from Emporia High School.
She married C. Wayne Yenzer on Dec. 28, 1945, in Burlington. He died Dec. 26, 1984.
Mrs. Yenzer was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Lawson of Eudora, Gail Coppersmith of Georgetown, Texas, and Beverly Yenzer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Gary Yenzer of St. George and Douglas Yenzer of Bellevue, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Derek J. Yenzer, died earlier.
The private burial service will be held later in Chase County.
