Olive A. French

MADISON
The funeral for Olive A. French of Madison will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home at Madison. The Rev. Bob Robison will conduct the service. Burial will be in Lena Valley Cemetery north of Lamont. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Madison Library and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
Mrs. French died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Newman Regional Health. She was 99.
She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in the El Mondoro and Harmony districts.
The daughter of Howard L. and Jessie L. Clemmer Beach, she was born June 8, 1907, in rural Madison. She graduated from Hartford High School and Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia.
She married Clyde C. French on Sept. 28, 1927, at Emporia. He died Sept. 13, 1973.
Mrs. French was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lena Valley. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
She is survived by two nephews, Bruce Goodson of Madison and Scott Goodson of Newland, Ga.; and two nieces, Glennis “Dee” Jones of Madison and Connie Shei of La Porte, Ind. A brother, Andrew L. Beach, died earlier.
