Ruby Irene , Chanute

Ruby Irene Phillips of Chanute died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was 83. Survivors in this area include a son, james C. “Chris” Phillips of Emporia.
Mrs. Philips was a licensed practical nurse and a bookkeeper for many years for Montgomery Ward and, after retirement, for Lamplighters.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Church of the Nazarene in Chanute. Burial will be in Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery at Chanute. The family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute.
Memorial contributions to the church, Cherry Street Youth Center or the Down Syndrome Society may be sent in care of the funeral home, 16 N. Forest St., Chanute, KS 66720.
