Nellie Mae Redding
Former Emporian Nellie Mae “Sally” Redding of Overland Park died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was 84.
She lived in Emporia for more than 50 years.
The daughter of Walter and Golden McMillen, she was born Aug. 27, 1922, at Laclede, Mo. She married Raymond D. Redding Jr., on March 15, 1946. He died earlier.
Mrs. Redding is survived by three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A son, Michael Redding, died earlier.
Mrs. Redding was cremated, with services to be held at a later date.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of the McGilley and Hoge Johnson County Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204.
