Martha Caroline DeYoe, CAMARILLO, CALIF.
Matfield Green native Martha “Mart” Caroline DeYoe of Camarillo, Calif., and formerly of the Clements-Strong City area, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard, Calif., of complications after a stroke. She was 74. Mrs. DeYoe was cremated. A memorial service was held Sept. 11 at Camarillo. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday in Prairie Grove Cemetery at Cottonwood Falls. Mrs. DeYoe was secretary at the Cottonwood Falls Grade School for many years while she lived in Chase County. After she moved to California, she worked in several secretarial positions, including some self-owned businesses. The daughter of Thomas and Frances Ohm Mushrush, she was born July 28, 1932, at Matfield Green. She married Ivan Wyatt on July 2, 1950. They were divorced. She married Robert G. DeYoe on June 1, 1975. He survives.
Mrs. DeYoe is also survived by two daughters, Cheryl Leitnaker of Ottawa and Colette Freeman of Effingham, Ill; four stepsons, the Rev. Jeffrey DeYoe of Palm Coast, Fla., Robert N. DeYoe of Ridley Park, Pa., Peter DeYoe of Wilmington, Del., and Christopher DeYoe of Norwalk, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Ann Davis of Wichita and Bertella Seacat of Gilbert, Ariz.; one brother, Emil Mushrush of Strong City; 14 grandchilden; and one great-grandchildren. One brother, Norman Mushrush, died earlier.
