Douglas Arthur Jones
The funeral for Douglas Arthur Jones of Reading will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Reading United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Reading Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mr. Jones died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at his home in Reading. He was 55. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in January 2003.
He managed the Reading Grain and Lumber Company and assisted in the family farm and cattle operation.
The son of Arthur G. and Arlene W. Reimer Jones, he was born July 31, 1951, at Emporia. He graduated from Reading High School in 1969 and Emporia State University in December 1973.
He married Linda Thorne in 1970. They were divorced. He married Nancy Rea Merwin in December 2001. She survives.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Reading United Methodist Church.
He is also survived by a daughter, Jessica Daun Kirkpatrick of Reading; a son, Brent Aaron Jones of Reading; a stepdaughter, Brenda McCoy of Emporia; his parents of Reading; two brothers, David O. Jones and Donald K. Jones, both of Reading; and five grandchildren.
