Chester D. Mackey
Chester D. “Buck” Mackey of Madison died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. He was 85.
Mr. Mackey farmed and was an oil field worker before he retired. He lived all his life in the Olpe-Madison communities.
The son of Joseph and Jessie Talkington Mackey, he was born Dec. 18, 1920, at Olpe. He married Helen L. Rathke on June 22, 1945, at Cottonwood Falls. She died June 13, 1980.
Mr. Mackey is survived by two sons, David Mackey of Emporia and Roger Mackey of Madison; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters died earlier.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, west of Olpe. The Rev. Bob Robison will conduct the service.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and sent in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
