Betty A. Meyer

Chase County native Betty A. Meyer, 83, of Rossville died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006 at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Meyer was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Cottonwood Falls, the daughter of Jackson Leroy and Gertrude E. Selves Archer.
Her family farmed in the Flint Hills and she attended Cottonwood Falls schools.
She married Gerald F. Meyer on Jan. 6, 1945, in Newton. He survives. They lived in Sunflower, where she worked for the Sunflower Ammuniton Plant before they moved to Topeka in 1948. She worked for American Bindery for 21 years.
She was an avid horsewoman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Other survivors include one daughter, Gerrie Meyer of Olathe; two sons, Steve Meyer and Gary Meyer, both of Topeka; one grandson; two brothers, John Archer of Boise, Idaho, and LeRoy Archer of Hope; and one sister, Patsy Johnson of Matfield Green.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Croy Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, where the family will meet with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
