An extension of the Burn Ban Resolution 20-12 was moved to other business on Thursday's commission action session. Lyon County Emergency Management Director Rick Frevert recommended to extend for another seven days.

The Lyon County Commission originally passed the resolution for a countywide burn ban during the July 26 action session. It was renewed Aug. 2 and again Aug. 9. The ban was set to expire at noon on Thursday.

Kevin Hanlin, Metro Planning Commission Secretary, presented a request for annexation of 722 S. Weaver St. to the Lyon County Commission during Wednesday's study session.

The Emporia City Commission approved the request to allow the property in to the Emporia city limits, citing an emergency situation. The well on the property went dry and the property owner wants to connect to city water and sewer.

Resolution 23-12 was moved to the other business on Thursday's commission action session.
