The only people out and about at that time of day are retired or unemployed.
Let me know when we can sign such things online. Peace!

Wish I would have seen this before heading downtown today, would have stopped by as I was 4 blocks away at 3:30.

Some of us have jobs with hours outside of those used by government and bank employers Malique. What's the matter, they not let you out of your cage during daylight hours?

I also signed today. I also got to meet a very concerned, non-native citizen! It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Dillon.
Here we have someone, that hopefuly, puts a little spark into the local community. People, this is a very worthwhile signing.
I know it has made me more aware of the concerns of the community and hopefuly I can get more involved in OTHER concerns (read: OUR tax dollars) being spent on non-important issues. Again, thank you, Mr. Dillon.

Hey Phil, Great job !

I am not having as much luck, but then I am not putting forth the effort like you either. I have some extra petition sheets if you are running low on your 300 ;>)

I think you deserve one of those pats on the back from the Gazette.

Steve

You're doing fine. I have the advantage of being retired.

This is really a "we" proposition.

I stopped by and chatted with Phil yesterday, to see how the signing was going.

It was interesting, as while I was chatting with Phil, a woman stopped by and said that she had recently moved to Emporia and wanted to know what the petition was about . Phil and I both explained and she was very interest in signing the petition, but she was not a registered voter, " Yet ", but that she was going to get registered as soon as possible and wanted to know where petitions would be available to sign.

I informed her that she could find a petition to sign at the TR and she knew where the TR was and she would be glad to stop by and sign the petition, after she is registered to vote.

Oh, I got several more signatures yesterday, going to residences, I made appointments with and will do so again to day .
And I have informed these signers that if they knew of friends or neighbors who wanted to sign, I would be more than happy to drop by their place of residence and let them sign a petition.

I will drop by the TR on Wed. around 6 P.M. to drop of by petition Sheet/Sheets to get them noterized .

I haven' t gotten as many signatures as Phil, but will continue to work on getting more, until I am told/ordered to " STOP " !

And every valid signature " COUNTS " .

WAY TO GO Methusla !

We do have until March 15th, but I don't know if Phill want's to go that long or if we even need to.

It would be nice to turn in 4 or 5 thousand signatures,

(THAT WOULD SURE SEND A MESSAGE).

At a certain point it would be a good idea to ask all of the carriers to turn in what they have so the signatures can be validated before they are turned in to Tammy.

The county clerks office will be pretty busy, what with this and candidate filings by petition, so I would imagine they would stop counting our signatures after 100 or so over the 990 needed.

THEY DO A GREAT JOB !

I would like to add that although I knew there were other people circulating the petitions, I did not know any names.
Thanks Steve, Methusla for your participation. Also thanks to the other "nameless" petition circulators!!

Everyone is doing a fantastic job. Keep in mind that we're all doing our part and that all contributions to success are equally important. That's the beauty of grass roots. It's not a matter of who's doing the most. It's the fact that everyone is making an important contribution. We will do this. Of that I'm certain!
