Enchiladas for Super Bowl
Faith Lutheran Church is holding a fundraiser for its youth organizations. Homemade beef enchiladas may be ordered by the dozen for $10 or half-dozen for $6 and picked up on either Feb. 4 or 5, just in time for the Super Bowl. Please order by Sunday. St. Mark’s soup and chili supper
The fourth annual St. Mark’s Lutheran Church soup and chili supper will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at the church. In addition to chili, the church’s renowned potato soup will be served, along with relishes, cornbread and dessert. Tickets are available now from church members or will be available at the door. The cost is $5 for ages 6 through adult and $2.50 for ages 5 and under. Proceeds benefit the special programs fund at St. Mark’s. Didde Super Bowl Fundraiser
Pulled pork by the pound ($10) and barbecued beans by the pint ($3 each or two for $5) are being offered by the members of Didde Catholic Campus Center as a fundraiser. Call order in to 343-6765 and pick up at the Center, 1415 Merchant St., on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, between 11:45 and 2 p.m. Quantities are limited.
St. Andy’s Kitchen
Each Saturday at 11:30 a.m., members of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church provide a free, hot meal in their fellowship hall to all who want to come. A brief worship service is held and the meal follows. For more information, or to donate or volunteer please call 342-1537.
Della Lamb Children’s Choir
First United Methodist Church will host guest speaker Judy Akers of Della Lamb Community Services in Kansas City at both services Feb. 5. At the second service, the organization’s high-energy children’s choir will perform.
Della Lamb is a United Methodist mission serving children, youth and adults in Kansas City. These guests are being sponsored in Emporia by the United Methodist Women.
Bierock season
The annual Sacred Heart Catholic youth bierock sale is coming. About 1,000 bierocks will be prepared in time for the Super Bowl. The Sacred Heart youth will sell the bierocks for $3 each or 10 for $25, and can be picked up at the Parish Hall on Feb. 4 starting at 11 a.m. Call 342-1061 for more information.
