A 1932 Rockne Six “65” Studebaker Sedan rolled into Cottonwood Falls early Tuesday morning. The car traveled from Colorado and is on permanent loan for five years to the Chase County Historical Society. The car is owned by a member of the Rockne family.
Rockne Motors Corp. was a Studebaker subsidiary that produced cars and trucks in 1932 and 1933 named in memory of Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne. He was employed part-time by Studebaker when he died in a plane crash near Bazaar.
Plans are to move to car into the historical museum at a future date.
