Tax assistance in Hartford
Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat will be at the Elmendaro Township Library, Hartford, on Feb. 6 to assist certain taxpayers with their Kansas Homestead Claims and Food Sales Tax Refund Claims.
Lyon County taxpayers age 60 and older and low- or mid-income taxpayers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. Make an appointment for a time between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. by calling the library at (620) 392-5518 or emailing elmlibhartford@gmail.com.
Start your own business
A class is being offered for people who want to start a business. The Start Your Own Business Class is a joint effort between Flint Hills Technical College, the Small Business Development Center at Emporia State University and Emporia Main Street.
