Northern Heights girls win Flint Hills Shootout

The Northern Heights Wildcats took the Flint Hills Shootout championship in the girls’ bracket on Saturday defeating Council Grove 56-30.
The Wildcats opened up an 11-point halftime lead before extending it to as many as 31 in the fourth quarter as they cruised to the championship victory.
“We came out and we hit some shots early and put some pressure on them,” said Northern Heights coach Tim Riemann. “I thought the girls did a great job. That was our goal to get out early and just be aggressive.”
