Olpe Soup Supper
The Olpe United Methodist Church will hold a soup supper Saturday at 120 W. Listerschied. A variety of soups and chilis, finger foods, drinks and desserts will be available, all for a donation to the church building fund.

Lamont Wesleyan retreat
Lamont Wesleyan Church is holding a weekend spiritual retreat today and Saturday. The guest speakers are Eddy Shigley and Jason Waller.
The retreat will begin with a Worship and the Word session at 7 p.m. tonight followed by snacks and fellowship time. Saturday will begin with lunch and a workshop from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a prayer and praise session. Supper and Fellowship will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. and the retreat will end with a final Worship and the Word session from 7 to 9:00 p.m.

Sacred Heart to present series on the Catholic Church
Coming to Sacred Heart: “Catholicism,” a multimedia educational program that reveals the truth, beauty and goodness of the Catholic faith in an unprecedented way. Fr. Robert Barron will present what Catholics believe and why, while being immersed in the art, architecture, literature, music and all the riches of the Catholic tradition. Filmed in 50 locations throughout 15 countries, this DVD series is on site and in the streets illustrating the splendor of the global Church — all in original, high definition cinematography.
Fr. Rich Warsnak of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will facilitate and discuss the first four DVD presentations in the four weeks before Lent on Wednesdays, 7:15-8:45 p.m. on January 25, February 1, 8, 15, and on Thursdays, 9:30-11 a.m. on January 26, February 2, 9, 16. All sessions will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall – 106 Exchange St.
First Baptist Chili Cook-off
The First Baptist Church, 807 Constitution St., invites the public to a church chili cook-off at noon Sunday. There will be prizes for “best,” “hottest” and “wimpiest.” Guests are asked to bring a side or dessert, if convenient. The church will hold a business meeting following the cook-off.
St. Mark’s Soup and Chili supper
The fourth annual St. Mark’s Lutheran Church soup and chili supper will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the church. In addition to chili, the church’s reknowned potato soup will be served, along with relishes, cornbread and dessert.

St. Andrew’s annual meeting
The members of St. Andrew’s Episcopal church are called to the 141st Annual Meeting following the Eucharist on Sunday in the parish hall. The budget will be voted on, and election of a convention delegate and three vestry members will be held.
All members are welcome, but only members in good standing may vote. The Parish life ministry will provide lunch.
First Congregational men’s breakfast
Friends and members of the First Congregational Church men are invited to a hot, homemade breakfast at 8 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. $3, no reservation needed.
Enchiladas for Super Bowl
Faith Lutheran church is holding a fundraiser for their youth organizations. Homemade beef enchiladas may be ordered by the dozen for $10 or half-dozen for $6 and picked up on either Feb. 4 or 5, just in time for the Super Bowl.

Bierock season
The annual Sacred Heart Catholic youth bierock sale is coming. About 1,000 bierocks will be prepared in time for the Super Bowl. They will sell for $3 each or 10 for $25, and can be picked up at the Parish Hall on Feb. 4 starting at 11 a.m. Call 342-1061 for more information.
