Farmers Winter Market tomorrow
Music by Anton Zouplna will be a feature of tomorrow’s Winter Market. It opens at 10 a.m. in the Emporia Humanitarian Center, 215 W. Sixth Ave. Patrons may enter through the southeast door, and there is a ramp for easy access. There will be soup for lunch: Split Pea with Ham, Steak and Potato and Vegetable Barley.
Neosho Rapids meeting
The regular monthly Neosho Rapids City Council meeting will be held on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. in the community building. The agenda to include mayor and committee reports and monthly business of the city, street, sewer and financial report given by Ed LeFord. The public is encouraged to attend.
Sweetheart Child Care
Emporia Cadette Girl Scout Troop 34047 is offering Sweetheart Child Care, Saturday, Feb. 11.
Children will make crafts, watch movies, dance, eat dinner, enjoy snacks (no peanuts) and play games while parents enjoy each other’s company for the evening. Children who are potty trained up to age 10 may attend from 6 p.m. to midnight Feb. 11 at the Amend Girl Scout Center, 1200 Burlingame Rd. in Emporia.
Cost is $25 for the first child and $5 for each additional child. Children may bring their pajamas, blanket and pillow.

Model T club meeting
The East Central Kansas Model T Ford Club meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Burlington Library. Hosts will be Lowell and Wanda Chambers. Everyone is asked to bring snacks to go with the soup and chili that will be furnished. Table service will be provided. Information: 342-0066.
Lyon County Fair Board
The monthly meeting of the Lyon County Fair Board will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the Fair Office at the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
Ladies’ Day at ESU game
It’s Ladies Day Out when the Lady Hornets of Emporia State University take on the RiverHawks of Northeastern University on Saturday at White Auditorium.
Tip off for the single-header is at 1:30 p.m., but the doors will open at 12:30 p.m. with vendors in the lobby giving out free samples and coupons. All ladies get into the game for only $5.
General admission tickets cost $8 for adults, $6 for children age 4 through high school and seniors 65 and older. Reserved seats cost $13.
