The reason LCSB is able to do their major remodel is they have started charging non-profit 501 c 3 organizations who have accounts with them service charges. I would not give them a pat on the back for that!

why wouldn't a bank charge fees for a 501C3?
The bank is not "Not for profit".

dml,
Your comment above really sticks in my craw.
A 501 c 3 is a not for profit.
A bank is a for profit usually owned by shareholders of a family.
A 501 c 3 cannot show a profit.
A for profit has to show a profit.
A 501 c 3 doesn't pay property, business property and most sales taxes.
A for profit has to pay those taxes.
A 501 c 3 can pay it's employees any thing it wants to, they can't show a profit.
A for profit has to pay it's employees what it can afford and still show a profit.
Your comment shows your unbridled sense of entitlement.
Instead of complaining about a banking fee of a few dollars per month, maybe you should think about the pay scales of some of those 501 c 3 employees.
Think:
United Way
RDA
CVB
EDA
ERC
Chamber of Commerce
Arts Council
Too many others to list.

I would like to thank Lyon County Bank on their remodel.
Providing needed construction jobs. Improving the looks of their building,
AND increasing their property taxes paid to the county.
GOOD JOB !
