This week’s Dine United participant is the Verona Grill and Pizzaria, which will donate 15 percent of Thursday’s proceeds to benefit the United Way of the Flint Hills. This restaurant is located at 410 Merchant St. and open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call 343-8300.
Gridley Branch Library Fall Book Sale
The Gridley Friends of the Library will hold their annual Fall Book Sale Wednesday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Gridley Branch of Coffey County Library.
The library is located at 512 Main Street. Sale hours are Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Books for adults, teens, and children as well as audio books, music CDs, videos, and DVDs will be available.

Pancake Breakfast
The Learning Center Preschool will hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children and available at the door.
Price to speak in Madison
The Madison Concert and Lecture series continues Saturday with Jay Price, who will discuss his lecture “Settling the Sea of Grass: Many Communities, One State.” This event, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 319 W.
