Five interceptions fueled a Madison defensive shutout Friday night against White City. But the Bulldogs’ offense was equally impressive.
Madison (5-0) jumped out to a 24-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and tacked on 38 more points in the second quarter to defeat White City 52-0 in a game that was called at the half.
Kole Schankie had four total touchdowns, including a 33-yard interception return.
“I thought our defense did a nice job,” Madison assistant coach Tracy Griffin said. “They threw the ball around a lot. They threw a lot of formations at us and the kids did a nice job of knowing what packages we were in. And five interceptions were big and we had good defensive line pressure.”

Lebo 50, Burlingame 0
Lebo improved to 5-0 Friday by defeating Burlingame on the road 50-0 in just a half. The Wolves struck three times in the first quarter, the highlight coming on a 69-yard touchdown reception by Tyson Robke from Trevor White. Robke ended the day with 106 receiving yards as White threw for 207 yards on six completions and no interceptions.
Despite the success, the Wolves struggled with penalties, committing five for 50 yards.

Moundridge 54, Chase County 22
It was a rough night for the Chase County Bulldogs Friday as they fell to Moundrige 54-22. Despite gaining almost 300 total yards of offense, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome a 34-point halftime deficit thanks to turnovers.
“The four turnovers in the second quarter that led to 27 unanswered points, that was the big hurdle for us tonight,” Chase County coach Derick Budke said.
For Chase County, Aaron Johnson led the way on the ground with 14 carries and 54 yards. Daulton Crawford caught a big 72-yard pass to lead them through the air.

Lyndon 20, Olpe 9
Although they led by nine very early on, the Olpe Eagles were unable to score any more points throughout the game as they fell by 11. The Eagles found themselves down just four points with a chance to score, but an interception led to a Lyndon touchdown from which they were unable to come back.
“We got off to a really good start,” said Olpe coach Chris Schmidt. “They just made some plays and we didn’t. The kids are playing hard there’s not doubt about it. We just cant get a break when we need them.”
The Eagles will look to bounce back from this effort next week as they face Jayhawk Linn.
