Kansas Drifters play fundraiser
All are welcome to come to a benefit chili feed on Saturday at The Mill, 608 Main St., Americus. Proceeds will go towards care packages for the troops. The Kansas Drifters, a trio specializing in outlaw country and classic 50s and 60s rock, will be playing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Tonight, Tomorrow: Antigone at EHS
Shows are at 7 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium. Tickets are $5 general admission, free to EHS students.
Art show at Presbyterian Manor
A show of paintings by Kate Rhoads will be on display at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor. An artist’s reception will be held in the Jones Health Center dining room located at the east side of the manor at 2 p.m. Nov. 21.
Rhoads has been painting for several years and some of her work features the outdoors, special pictures, portraits, and more.
Gypsy Swing Guitar
Guest artist Aaron Walker of the Denver Music Institute and Credo Academy will hold a workshop at Flint Hills Music, 715 Commercial Street, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 26. Walker specializes in the Gypsy Swing style of Django Reinhardt. This event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Holiday art gifts
The Emporia Arts Council’s Holiday Art Boutique will start Saturday with an open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beautiful local art will be for sale plus there will be a Nichole Collins trunk show during the Open House. This one day only event will include jewelry never before shown at EAC. Shoppers will receive 10 percent off Nichole Collins Jewelry during the open house. The Holiday Boutique will be open through Dec. 31. Information: 343-6473.

-Sunday: Piano recital in commemoration of the Mexican Revolution, 3 p.m., Heath Recital Hall.

Eurydice at ESU
The play Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl will be performed at Emporia State University from Nov. 30 through Dec. 3. It is based on the Greek tragedy of the same name, where Orpheus travels to the underworld to reclaim his beloved Eurydice, only to lose her again at the last moment.
Charles Isherwood of the New York Times wrote in his review of a performance by the Yale Repertory Theater: “... it may just be the most moving exploration of the theme of loss that the American theater has produced since the events of Sept. 11, 2001, although Ms. Ruhl began work on the play before that terrible day.”
Orchestra auditions
