BOLIVAR, MO. — The Emporia State Hornets are finishing the season the exact opposite of how they started.
The Hornets, after beginning the year by losing their first three games, now have a three-game winning streak after defeating Southwest Baptist 42-28 Saturday at Plaster Stadium.
“That was a great team win,” ESU coach Garin Higgins said. “I’m just so proud of this football team. It’s been a roller coaster this season, but our players have never gave in. They’ve always held their head up high when our backs were against the wall. Today we faced a lot of adversity, but we had a lot of guys step up and make plays on both sides of the ball.”
