BURDEN — A gusty wind, a mettlesome Madison High defense and five Kole Schankie touchdowns lifted the Bulldogs past Central High School 50-18 Saturday in Burden.
The win earned Madison (11-0) a regional trophy and put the Bulldogs one win away from returning to the state title game.
Central’s Bo Savage, who leads 8-Man Division I in passing yards, was harassed most of the afternoon by the Bulldog defenders. Savage was sacked seven times and threw an interception that was returned by Tanner Bybee for a touchdown to give Madison a 28-6 lead.
