The death of a 2-year-old boy who choked on food Thursday has been ruled accidental.
The name of the child has not be released yet by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. He was 33 months old.
Sheriff deputies and an ambulance arrived at 838 Road 300 at 6:41 p.m. Thursday after getting a call about a child choking.
The family was doing CPR when deputies arrived. They took over CPR and the child was transported to Newman Regional Health. He was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m.
The Lyon County coroner examined the child. The preliminary cause of death was determined to be accidental.
