Police respond to report of gunshot

Emporia Police officers were called to the 800 block of Rural prior to 4:30 Tuesday afternoon for a report of a gunshot.
Emporia Police Chief Gary Smith said that when they arrived they found a female dead at the scene. Smith said until autopsy results are available they are calling it an unattended death unless the results indicate otherwise.
“There is no indication of foul play,” Smith said.
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time. Updates will be posted when they become available.

Last year a local business man shot imself and his name was in the paper the next day, seems to me that it may depend if the family could not be located, OR smith is trying to figure out a way to cover it up, them damn people with scanners, spoil everything don't they. because they begin to ask questions, and then make comments with anonymous names and it pisses sauder off.

Or the women who decided to end her life is a minor.
Which is the point, it would appear someone thought they had nothing left and did something tragic.
We don't need details, we need to remember to reach out and remind those we care about that we care about them because sometimes you don't know someone's suffering.

I personally know the women and the family is asking for respect of there privacy and grieving. I mean honestly when something this tragic happens its the last thing that needs to smeared all over the news its enough to deal with the fact she's gone and possibly took her life without smearing her any further in the public eye. You've got to think what if it was your loved one.
