One person was injured after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Emporia.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a vehicle driven by Otilo Tapia Beltran of Emporia, was eastbound on Old Highway 50 in the left lane approaching a vehicle driven by Junior Elwood Phelps of Emporia from the rear just after 3 p.m. Friday at Industrial Road and Old Highway 50 in the Emporia city limits. Beltran failed to yield to the red light and rear-ended Phelps’ vehicle.
Beltran, 36, was not injured. Phelps, 51, was taken to Newman Regional Health.
