An event has been scheduled to involve the voices of community members as the community of Reading continues to rebuild following the May 21 EF3 tornado that damaged many of the structures in the area.
With the facilitation help of Liz Hendricks and Rick Behrens from Public Square Communities, LLC, citizens of Reading will hold roundtable discussions about the future of the Reading community. Using data collected from community surveys and some 50 individual interviews, roundtables will build on Reading’s assets and recommend ways to make future improvements.
This “Community Conversation” will be held at the Reading Elementary School on July 27. A light dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the Community Conversation will begin at 7 p.m. The success of this visioning process will be determined by the involvement of as many community members as possible. Remember what a wise person once said: “When the dream is big enough, the facts don’t count!”
Reading Steering Committee members hosting this event include: Albert Atchison, JT Crawford, Malonne Davies, Terry DeDonder, Angel Garcia, Debbie Garrison, Bill Hanlon, Jerry Karr, Mo Keith, Derek and Tammy Patterson, Jim and Melanie Pritchard, Dave Siler, Kevin Sorenson, Brian and Laura Velasquez, Julie Wilkerson and Lyle Williams.
