ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A Florida jury has acquitted Casey Anthony of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Anthony showed no reaction when the jury's verdict was read Tuesday after more than 10 hours of deliberations. But she began to cry shortly after and hugged her attorney. She could have received a death sentence if she had been convicted of first-degree murder.
She was found guilty of lying to investigators. Judge Belvin Perry will sentence her Thursday. She could receive up to a year in jail for each count.
Caylee disappeared in June 2008 and her body was found in woods near her grandparent's home six months later.

Now can the news media get their stuff together and start reporting real news?

O.K. gogreen,
You're correct, the death of this child was news,---- in Florida. For the National news media and people to be fixated on this death and this case for 3 years shows what kind of country we have become.
Consider how many American children have died in Afghanistan and Iraq in the same time. 1 or 2 THOUSAND. Why no intensive coverage on the war dead? Where's ole Nancy Grace when we have a real "NATIONAL" story.
Don't know how much more dumbing down our country can take from the news??? media.

The only thing that Nancy Grace cares about are her ratings, as does every other national new reporter. The more they can spin and sensationalize something the more viewers and therefore the higher the ratings and the more money the networks make.
How would you sensationalize war casualties and collateral casualties, especially if it involves unpopular wars, thousands of miles away .
These " Howard Cosell " newscaster types, have no feelings or compassion, one way or another. What you see while they are on camera is all an act anyway. An act designed to put sponser dollars in the networks pocket .
It,s all about ratings, viewership and " MONEY " and thats the bottom line.

Well said meth. On that note. .
My buddy gave me some commical relief the other day when he was thinking of a name for his new guitar. Once he came up with a name, he said he couldn't wait for someone to ask him what he had named it. . I proceded to ask why that is? His response, "I can't wait to go to wrap my hands around Nancy Grace's neck and make her squeal!"
