The Army Corps of Engineers is lowering the water in an east-central Kansas reservoir to help find an 11-year-old boy missing for a month.
Jeremy Jenkins disappeared Dec. 4 along with his father and uncle while they hunted waterfowl in a boat on John Redmond Reservoir. All three were from the Neosho Rapids area.
The bodies of 40-year-old Jason Jenkins and 22-year-old Clinton Yeager were found on the shoreline. But crews were unable to find Jeremy, and the search was suspended Dec. 13 because of icy conditions.
The Corps said Tuesday it expects to finish lowering the lake about two feet by early Thursday. The agency says river levels will rise quickly as the water flows out of the reservoir in Coffey County.

Very sad.
Hope they can find this boy and bring peace to his family.
Hope the searchers will be very careful too.

I've thought of the family often, even though I don't know the Jenkins/Yeager families. Hopefully, they will find this little angel and bring closure to the family. Many condolences.

Someone who was very close to me when I younger, is very close to the family and my heart goes out to him and his loved ones.

Very tragic. Bless the divers/rescue workers and family. How terrible for the mother/family to relive the tragerdy all over. Hopefully this will bring peace to all involved. I will say a prayer for all.
