Travis Bryan scored a game-high 15 for the Titans and Aaron Ludolph added 13 points.

SCC jumped out to a 12-7 lead but Olpe took the lead back with a 17-7 second-quarter surge. However, SCC outscored the Eagles a 21-13 in the second half.

“They outscored us 11-5 in the fourth quarter,” Olpe coach Chris Schmidt said. “They outplayed us in the fourth quarter. They wanted it more than we did. We struggled putting the ball in the hole, especially in the fourth quarter. We got some looks and we didn’t make plays and their kids made plays.”

Olpe went just 3-10 from the free-throw line.

Austin Bass led the Eagles with 12 points, Glen Haag added nine, Colby Nuessen and Linden Stueve added six apiece.

Nathan Campbell scored 16 points and had three rebounds and Teeino Tabares added 12 and Casey Atchison added 10.

“The first half we came out and really had trouble knocking the rust off from the Christmas break,” Northern Heights coach Lanny Massey said. “We started to find a little offensive rhythm late in the second quarter and were able to continue that throughout the second half. We had nice games out of a lot of kids tonight.”

Tonight our defense picked up in the second half and our rebounding was a big key in the game. The main thing was our defensive pressure and we didn’t give them very many second-chance points.”
