They did it.
Hetlinger Development Services, 707 S. Commercial St., has officially reached a $2 million capital campaign goal to expand the building.
The capital campaign began in July 2008 and more than 200 donors donated to help Hetlinger reach their goal. In 2010, Hetlinger, which provides support for individuals with developmental disabilities, announced that a $400,000 challenge grant had been issued to the organization. The grant is a capital campaign challenge grant from the J.E. and LEE Mabee Foundation of Tulsa. The challenge ended on Feb. 21.
According to an earlier press release from Hetlinger, the grant is to help support Hetlinger’s $2 million “Everyday Heroes Campaign.” The campaign will fund the renovation and expansion of the organization’s 45-year-old building. It will allow the organization to serve 25 percent more clients in the building. The building is in need of expansion because many clients can’t work in-house due to lack of space.
Hetlinger Executive Director Trudy Hutchinson said she’s excited the organization has reached its goal.
