Tim-Buck-To to you, too
Steve Sauder - Emporia

Last week when Charles Rayl wrote in the Gazette about “ Steve Sauder ’s Tim Buck To” he was exactly right. That was “my” Tim-Buck-To based on the common saying “as far away as Timbuktu.”
My problem wasn’t so much with my spelling, but rather with my geography. I readily admit I didn’t know Timbuktu was also a city in West Africa.
I did spell “my” Tim-Buck-To correctly although spelling surely isn’t one of stronger talents. This reminds me of the day my English professor at KU told me while I was a gifted writer my heroic effort at misspelling words had finally caught up with me as she gave me an “F”.
What my friend Charley needs to understand is “my” Tim-Buck-To came from my imagination, just like we have to imagine who those faceless bloggers on the Gazette’s website might be because they seldom do what Charley and I always proudly do, which is identify ourselves when we offer an opinion.
And while I’m answering questions let me answer one of Bill Nielsen’s, also from last week’s Gazette.
He suggested that I run for a seat on the city commission.
Well...about 35 years ago I tried to get elected to the Lyon County Commission and the voters made it pretty clear that I should keep my day job, so I have.
I’m Steve Sauder and I live at 1710 Hammond Drive in Emporia, Kansas 66801, Lyon County, in the U.S.A. on the planet Earth.
