Courtesy Photo - Braysen hugs his stuffed animal Sparky prior to his surgery that placed a Hickman catheter in his chest. The catheter stayed in for over a year and was used to administer chemotherapy and allowed for easy access for blood tests.

Braysen Butter is a brave 5-year-old boy.

But you wouldn’t know by talking to him that he has been sick and has endured more than any person should ever have to endure.

Braysen, son of Jessica Butter of Madison and Thomas and Carrie Butter of Strong City, was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 neuroblastoma when he was four years old. Neuroblastoma most commonly arises in and around the adrenal glands, which sit on top of the kidneys and most commonly affects children age 5 or younger.
