Lessons and Carols
Sacred Heart Catholic Church will hold a lessons and carols program at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the sanctuary, 101 Cottonwood St. There will be readings, prayers and lots of music; all are welcome and there is no charge to attend.
Sunday, church members will carol at Holiday Resort, Presbyterian Manor and Sterling House.
St. Andy’s kitchen
St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 828 Commercial St., will host a “loaves and fishes” lunch Saturdays. A worship service will be held at 11:30 and a hot meal, open all, will follow free of charge. Information: 342-1537.
Lebo Baptist Nativity
Sunday, the Lebo Baptist Church will hold a “Community Living Nativity, The Christmas Story Comes to Life,” at 5:30 p.m., at Heritage Hill Homestead, two miles north and two miles east of Lebo.
Lebo UMC Christmas Musical
The Lebo United Methodist Junior and Senior choirs will present the Christmas musical “Where’s the Newborn King?” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Jean Rowley and Sara Evans will direct the presentation.
All are welcome and refreshments will be served by the United Methodist Women.
Congregational Christmas Cantata
The children and choir of First Congregational Church will perform a cantata by Pepper Choplin called “I hear the Prophet Callin’” at the 11 a.m. service. The church is located at the corner of State Street and 12th Avenue.
Madison Kid’s Christmas Shop
The Madison United Methodist Church will host a “Shop for Mom and Dad” event starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Santa’s elves will help kids look over the various gifts and then help wrap them up. There will be refreshments for parents while they wait. For more information, call (620) 374-6305.
Tri-Parish UMC ‘Blue’ Christmas
The Allen United Methodist Church will hold a “Blue Christmas” service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22.
