The Northern Heights girls basketball team fell to 42-38 to Hope Saturday at the Herington Tournament.
Big second and fourth quarters by Hope were the difference. Hope outscored NHHS 32-15 in those two quarters.
Lakin Preisner led the Wildcats with 11 points and five rebounds and Jessica Hicks added seven points and five rebounds.
NHHS led 32-27 entering the fourth quarter, but was outscored 15-6 in the final eight minutes.
“I think that we played well enough to win at times tonight,” NHHS coach Tim Riemann said. “But we just didn’t come through. We need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and being more patient on the offensive end. Defensively I thought we played well and I know that the girls worked hard. I am proud of their effort and know that we will learn from this game.”
