Better than field medicine

Monday, September 27, 2010

I hadn’t planned to spend my Monday night getting reacquainted with the Topeka medical community. Instead, I’d planned to watch my boys play football at Lyndon and catch up with classmates at my alma mater.

I was able to watch for one half before Alex went down. For the second time in a week, he’d dislocated his shoulder. This time, it wouldn’t move back into the socket, so we loaded him into our van and raced to Topeka. (As usual, friends came through, making sure Luke knew what was happening and giving Aaron a ride back home after the game.)

Meanwhile, Greg, Alex and I spent time at Stormont-Vail, in many ways my old stomping ground.

Have to buy the print Ed. to see what the point was.
They were in Lyndon, which is much closer to Topeka than Emporia. Not really an NRH avoidance issue.

It seems to me this man should visit the inside of a jail cell for a few days. To send a boy to play football right after having had the very same injury is child abuse.
